Welcome to The Playhouse, Sleaford, Lincolnshire.
Home to Sleaford Little Theatre Amateur Dramatic Society
Built in 1825 our Georgian Playhouse Theatre had some success until it closed in 1856 and was converted into a school. The following years saw the building used for a series of other uses but was restored and reopened in 2000.
Built for a bookbinder, printer and comedian Joseph Smedley, who owned a string of theatres and ran a small touring theatre company, which toured these theatres in the Lincolnshire and Norfolk area.
As one of only two Georgian theatres with a small, rectangular auditorium in Britain, we invite you to explore its history and see the events on offer.
