UPDATED - 12th August 2020
We hope this update finds you and yours well and some kind of normality returning to your life.
With the Covid-19 pandemic still having an enormous impact on everyone’s life it is equally difficult for Sleaford Little Theatre to determine when the Playhouse may reopen. Following on from a trustees meeting held on Wednesday 29th July it was, regrettably, agreed that the Playhouse will remain closed for the rest of 2020 and our planned programme be rolled over to 2021. Any tickets purchased through our Box Office (Animal Magic) for any of our cancelled performances, the cut-off date for applying for a refund is 31st December 2020. If you have not applied for a refund for any cancelled performances or have friends or family who have not yet done so, please do. If, in the unlikely event, we can open earlier you will be notified through our normal channels mainly our website or the display cabinet outside of the Playhouse.
Have you ever thought about what it takes to run a Theatre? Curious? Interested in joining? We have many opportunities, not just acting. The current situation has meant that, unfortunately, we were not able to hold our Annual General Meeting in May but as soon as it is safe to do so we will be arranging a new date. Several trustees are standing down at the next AGM so we will have vacancies for roles of Chairman, Secretary, Publicity Manager and trustees without an identified, specific role. These roles are vital to the continued success of Sleaford Little Theatre and if you become a member you can apply for any of these roles. Whilst some of these roles can be time consuming and demanding they can also be very rewarding and allow you to bring your ideas and thoughts to the table so that you can help shape the future of Sleaford Little Theatre. Any role you are successfully appointed to you will be supported by the rest of the committee.
Interested in the technical side of running a performance? We would be very pleased to hear from anyone who would be interested in training as a technician. This can be for sound or lighting or both. This is another role that is critical to the continued success of the theatre and no matter how much or how little time you could dedicate you would be a valuable member of the whole support team.
We are always trying to identify funding opportunities to ensure the future of the historic Playhouse and now more than ever we are very keen to hear from anyone who has experience in this area and who is willing to help us in the role as a Fund Raising Manager.
The Playhouse is a unique Grade II listed building with a long and interesting history in Sleaford town and the trustees wish for it to continue to enhance Sleaford and surrounding communities. Your continued support has ensured the survival of Sleaford Little Theatre and the Playhouse but if you are curious as to how you can help in alternative ways please contact us at [email protected]
