At the Playhouse we love welcoming bands and touring companies back so, we are very pleased to be able to say that Pennyless are returning a year after their last concert.

Pennyless comprises of Penny Stevens (vocals, fiddle), Les Woods (guitar), Graham Dale (flute, whistle, melodica and percussion) and Colin Benton (bass guitar, bouzouki, mandolin).

The multi-instrumentalist Graham has worked and recorded with Vicky Clayton and performed at Glastonbury while Pennyless as a band has supported The Spinners, Stackridge, Sam Sweeney & Hannah James and Captain Blackbeard’s Tea Party.

The band have appeared on many radio and BBC television programmes to promote their original material that is thoroughly inventive and distinctively English! Influences include fenland folklore, John Clare's poetry, medieval troubadours, The Incredible String Band and Pentangle.

The trio's performance will also coincide with the annual festival of live music and arts, known locally as Sleaford Live. Sleaford Live this year will take place from 29th April to the 8th May 2016 with many events lined up throughout the week. For full details about Sleaford Live visit their website.
