Fresh Air

Presented by Sleaford Little Theatre Academy (National Theatre Connections)

Thu 3 April - Sun 6 April 2025

Set in the infamous haunted woods of Langdon Hills, Essex, renowned for its sinister screams and weeping visitors, this atmospheric play blurs the line between the living and the dead.

The world’s eerie immersive setting is skilfully crafted by young actors transforming into trees to cradle and constrict the characters in their search for connection.

Contemporary children from a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU), visiting the woods to take part in a character building, orienteering exercise, meet the mischievous ghost children who lived and died during the 1920s, in a Tuberculosis Sanatorium, once situated at the top of the hill. Playful yet haunting, these spirits challenge perceptions of fear and innocence, inviting you to explore themes of belonging, and the echoes that connect us all.

Please note: this play contains strong language and scenes involving death and disease and topics of an adult nature.
