An audience without Jake Thackray

Jake Thackray's satirical, witty, sentimental, hilarious songs brought him fame and extensive television exposure as well as a string of top selling albums in the 60s and 70s. He was a uniquely gifted songwriter who brought comparisons with Flanders and Swann and even the billing of the 'North Country Noel Coward'. Greatly missed by all his fans following his untimely death in 2002, his legacy of scores of superb songs continues to delight audiences of all ages today.

A celebration

John Watterson's celebration of the life and work of Jake is full of the warmth, humour and sincerity you might expect from a lifelong fan. His respect for and appreciation of one of this country's finest wordsmiths is obvious and the show is a fitting tribute to the man and his genius. John is a talented guitarist and vocalist and has toured with Fairport Convention, and performed a 20 date show at Edinburgh Fringe as well as numerous radio shows.
